It truly was a ‘grand slam’!

On Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th December 2015, Stockley Academy Performing Arts Department proudly presented Fat Sam’s Grand Slam!

The annual Christmas production was an absolute success once again, with tickets for both nights selling out. We were fortunate to have the Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Hillingdon with us at the Wednesday performance. The Mayor tweeted afterwards “Fat Sam’s Grand Slam at @stockleyacademy is full of energy and enthusiasm. We loved it!”

Students worked extremely hard for three months and the results were not disappointing – students created some of the best characters from the infamous gangs of New York. There were star performances from Charlie Claridge and Jason Bourne as Bugsy Malone, and Rheanna McKenzie and Smilte Felinskaite as Blousey Brown. Stockley Academy students once again shone and out-did previous productions. Students should all be incredibly proud of themselves.

Principal, Leo Gilbert, said after the production “It really was excellent, so well done to all of you. It is such a treat to see our student excelling themselves creatively, and they wouldn’t be able to do this if staff didn’t put hours and hours into providing them with unforgettable opportunities like this one. Wonderful stuff!”

Finally, Ellen Bellamy, Curriculum Leader of Performing Arts said “I am so proud of our students. Their dedication and commitment is something to be highly commended. Thank you to all parents who supported the Academy, it is invaluable and appreciated by so many. Until next year…”
