All teaching and learning is linked to the new national curriculum. There are opportunities throughout the curriculum for students to learn important key skills that will prepare them for Key stage 4 and beyond. Many subjects organise a variety of events and trips to enhance and enrich the student learning experience.
In Year 7 we will be offering immersion days where students can choose to gain a deeper experience within the subjects to help them develop important skills and help them understand how particular subjects link to the wider world of work. During Year 9 some students will start their GCSE / BTEC courses.
At Key Stage 4 the following subjects are compulsory; Maths, English (Language and Literature), Science, PE, RE and PSHE.
Students then have the choice to follow a range of subjects both vocational (BTEC) and academic (GCSE) these include the following, ICT, Business, Sport, Travel and Tourism, Music Technology, Health and Social Care, Salon Services, Construction, Art, Hospitality, Engineering, Performing Arts, Geography, History, Citizenship, ASDAN, Triple Science and French.
Some students will take their GCSE in Maths and English early in Year 10 which will enable them to study additional courses.
