Stockley Academy Sixth Form hit the ground running

Following on from excellent A Level results, Stockley Academy Sixth Form students are back with avengance.

Sabrina Sulaiman (Head Girl) and Arslan Aamir were invited to speak and performed brilliantly at the Attorney General’s youth network launch event. Sabrina and Arslan met and shared their views with Baroness Scotland, the Attorney General. In the words of David Tan, Programme Director of Debate Mate, “They should be extremely proud of themselves.”

In addition Stockley Academy’s Sixth Form hosted their own World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 25 September. They invited Academy staff and residents from local elder care homes.
In just over an hour they raised close to £100 for Macmillan. In the words of Macmillan’s Chief Executive, Ciaran Devane “The important thing was everyone who took part had a great time whilst making a difference.”

Assistant Principal, Bev Urquhart, in charge of Post 16 said, “I am very proud of the Sixth Form students who in addition to their studies have chosen to take on additional responsibilities.”
