Our art students were inspired by the Artist, Hundertwasser and through the process of ‘felt making’ created an artwork made up of hundreds of concentric circles to represent the harmful effect that duck-weed and blue green algae is having on the Huangpu River. The felt beads were used to create a Textile Montage, which was both stitched together, scanned into the computer and using the wonders of Photoshop evolved into a final digital image.
We are delighted that the magnificent artwork produced by Stockley Academy students, along with work from other schools was published in a book and went on exhibition at the Oxo Tower Gallery on the Southbank during September. In addition the artwork will be enjoyed by millions of people in the next few months as the artwork travels to riverside locations in each of the participating cities.
As part of this exciting initiative, the Academy is planning other events and activities with the Ganquan Foreign Languages Middle School - keep visiting our website to keep up to date with the developments.
