The Pupil Premium grant is used to enhance the learning of students whose families who have qualified for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the past six years, of students who are looked after by the local authority (LAC), and to assist financially in certain circumstances.
A large proportion of the Pupil Premium funding is used to increase staffing in key areas which in turn leads to smaller class sizes for our more vulnerable students. This is a strategy that we use across the school. The impact of this is to enable greater contact time between the student and the teacher to ensure progress is made.
A significant amount of investment and time goes into providing pastoral support for our students. This includes mentoring, counselling, pastoral support and students support services, including behaviour and attendance.
Students receive support with a range of personalised intervention strategies including:
• One to one tuition and small group tuition
• Music lessons
• Revision guides
• Text books
• Funding towards educational trips
The Academy’s Pupil Premium Programme was independently reviewed in November 2015. Stockley Academy’s Pupil Premium Policy, Reports and Review are available to download from the right hand column.
